Personality: Eric is a talented seaman. He’s had his own fleet of ships since he was a teenager. His love for the ocean has always been a major role in his life. He also loves music and plays the flute. Much of his time has been spent fishing, sailing, and exploring. Though, his favorite part of his time has been spent with Ariel. He also spent a lot of time with his dog, Max. Eric’s servants were always pleased to work for him. He would talk with them as if they were his family and he always viewed them as such. He considered Grimsby, one of Eric’s servants, to be a very close friend. Almost like a brother. Eric would freely and willingly talk to him about a myriad of things. And Carlotta, his maid, he thought of as fondly as his own mother since she often took care of him. Since Eric doesn’t remember anything or any of his loved ones, he is determined to find out who he is and if possibly he already has somebody who he loves and who misses him out in the world.
Before: Despite that Eric was born into royalty, he knew there was more to life than simply marrying somebody and becoming King. Despite people trying to push girls on him to marry, Eric wanted to find somebody he truly loved and refused to marry any other. One day, while on one of the many ships in Eric’s fleet, there was a storm and his ship went down. Ariel saved him from drowning. As he regained conciseness, Ariel began singing to him. Instantly, through his foggy thoughts, he fell in love with her. Her voice was the only voice he wished to hear from then on. But she was a mermaid so she disappeared back into the sea. When they were reunited, Ariel had no voice. It was because of this the Eric doubted she was the girl he loved. And when another woman appeared, having tricked Ariel had Ariel’s voice. Eric believed the second woman to be his love. But on the day they were to be married, Eric discovered that she was actually a sea witch who only wished to marry Eric to make Ariel hers. Eric, with the help of Ariel and other sea creatures, was able to kill the sea witch. And he married Ariel. They assumed they’d live happily ever after.

After: As Eric opened his eyes, an overbearingly bright light blinded him. The sun was up high in sky bearing down on him. The man was sticky from head to toe. And his clothes were damp. And he was covered in something grainy. Sitting up, he realized instantly he was on a beach. Which felt overwhelmingly familiar to him. Not the beach itself, but the experience of waking up on the beach and not remembering anything.
That was when he realized it. He didn’t remember anything. Nothing about himself. Not his name. Not his life. Not his family. He did have a family, right? Or were his parents passed? He looked for hints. Checking his pockets, he had nothing in them.
There didn’t seem to be anybody else on the shore with him. He was alone. Of course, this was a scary moment, though he wasn’t sure if he’d lived through anything scarier. Despite it being scary, he didn’t panic. First, he needed his clothes to dry. He took off his shirt, walked to the trees, and hung it on the lowest hanging branch he could find.
It was then that he discovered a tattoo on his right shoulder. It was of a pretty mermaid, which seemed like an odd tattoo for a guy to have. But at least he had a pretty girl on his arm and it made him smile. He had raised his left hand on touch his arm. And that was when he noticed a ring on his finger.
He was married. He was married and had no recollection of the wedding or his wife. Did this mean he had children too?
