Introducing Princess Jasmine
I am a question to the world. Not an answer to be heard or a moment that’s held in your arms
Name: Jasmine
Age: 16
Sex: Female
Marriage status: Engaged- Fiancée to Aladdin
Current Location: Disney Town
And what do you think you’d ever say? I won’t listen anyway.
Job: Princess
Human Playby: Sheetal Sheth
Special abilities:Jasmine has the ability to communicate with animals. She can understand them as if she were an animal herself.
Personality: Jasmine is and always has been a free spirit. It’s nearly impossibly to make her do anything that she doesn’t want to. You could even say that she’s the rebellious type, often doing things simply because she knows she shouldn’t. She often longed for the freedom that other girls had, leading to her running away rather frequently. However, she is rather naïve about the real world. But she is clever and intelligent. And her beauty does help in situations that could possibly get her into trouble and she uses it to her advantage. Her love for adventure is often what leads her into trouble in the first place. Usually, Jasmine just acts. She doesn’t think through her actions or the consequences. She does love animals and had many pets of her own. She prefers animals to humans and will often times take care of a sick or injured one. She thought of her pets as her friends and family. And her pet tiger took to protecting her from people who would argue with her. Especially her father. But that’s not to say she’s unwilling to fight her own battles. Her biggest flaw is her pigheadedness and need to fight for what she wants.
Before: Before the virus set in, Jasmine was a princess to Agrabah. But as she neared her sixteenth birthday, the birthday that law demands she marry a prince, she became more and more tired of her life of being held prisoner within the royal palace. Numerous times, she fled her home. Once, days before her birthday, she fled once again. It was on this day that she helped a hungry child by giving him an apple that she unintentionally stole. Before the vender could cut off her hand, Aladdin saved her. However, guards found Jasmine and Aladdin. They took her back to the palace and threw Aladdin into the dungeon. When she demanded Aladdin be released, her father’s evil right hand man, Jafar, lied and told Jasmine he’d been executed. But Jafar had released Aladdin and leads him to treasure. Eventually, Aladdin returned to Jasmine, but disguised as a Prince named Ali. Jasmine soon figures out it was actually Aladdin. Jafar too realized it was Aladdin, kidnapped him, and threw him into the ocean. With the help of his friend, Aladdin escaped and once again returned to Jasmine. Once at the palace, Aladdin reveals Jafar’s plot to steal the throne from the Sultan. After many many more obstacles, Aladdin uses trickery to turn Jafar into a genie and therefore bound to a lamp until he’s wished free. Once everybody was safely returned to the palace, Aladdin and Jasmine announced their engagement. After her father changed the law that the Princess be allowed to marry who she wished.
You don’t know me and I’ll never be what you want me to be.
After: Jasmine awoke in a bed with silk sheets and a large room. Stretching and yawning, she sat up and looked around the room. Quickly, she came to the conclusion it was entirely unfamiliar to her. The room was quite beautiful. It was fit for royalty. The furniture had gold and jewels on it. When she got up and inspected the clothes in the closet, they were made of rich materials. Mostly silk and cashmere. In the bathroom attached to the room she awoke in, she discovered a large tub and a mirror as well. It was unsettling to not remember what you look like. So she inspected her face and body carefully in the mirror.
Then she changed her clothes. Now wearing a delicate dress and jewels to match, she walked the halls. Almost immediately in the hall outside of, what she was referring to as ‘her room’, she discovered a portrait. A portrait of herself. And underneath it read a plaque that read ‘Princess Jasmine’.
And with that her day was completed. She knew her name and that she was a princess. But she realized that that probably meant there was a King and Queen. And rules. And that brought down the buzz of being a princess. As quietly as she could, Jasmine snuck back into her room. She pulled the pillowcases off the pillows, filled them as many jewels, gold, and luscious clothes as she could.
She’d escape from her balcony, not wanting to risk being seen in the palace. After dropping the pillowcases over the edge to the ground, she instinctually climbed down the grate that was allowing ivy to climb up the walls. Once she was safely on the ground, she gathered her treasure over her shoulders and ran. She’d find some place new. And she’d be free to do whatever she pleased.
And what do you think you’d understand? I’m a boy, no, I’m a man.
